AGroecology &#8211; Innovations &#8211; TeRritories (AGIR)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This UMR works on the interactions between socio-technical, socio-ecological and agroecological systems in order to<strong> analyze agrosystem transitions and design innovative agroecological systems<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To achieve this, it brings together researchers and research professors in biotechnology and human and social sciences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The AGIR JRU sees transition as the need to leave a situation that is deemed untenable. For agriculture, it is motivated by the undesirable effects on farmers\u2019 income and isolation, the environment, territorial inequalities, the health of consumers and workers, animal welfare, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/agir.toulouse.hub.inrae.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Read more<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-getwid-section has-background-color-yellow has-height-undefined\"><div class=\"wp-block-getwid-section__wrapper\"><div class=\"wp-block-getwid-section__inner-wrapper\"><div class=\"wp-block-getwid-section__background-holder\"><div class=\"wp-block-getwid-section__background\"><\/div><div class=\"wp-block-getwid-section__foreground\"><\/div><\/div><div class=\"wp-block-getwid-section__content\"><div class=\"wp-block-getwid-section__inner-content\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">EA &#8211; Agri-Food &amp; Environmental Biotechnologies Lab &nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Agri-Food &amp; Environmental Biotechnologies Lab (LBAE) focuses on the study of complex microbial systems (CMS) of biotechnological interest in the environmental field, in particular to optimize biological purification processes and recycle residual carbon (water, waste).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a context of sustainable development and global change, organic effluent and waste can be treated and\/or recycled in processes that generally involve biological treatment, whether aerobic (activated sludge, aerobic granules, composting, etc.) or anaerobic (methanization). The overall aim of the Joint Research Unit is to develop research programs on the&nbsp;<strong>long-term effects of low-level chemical contaminants in food on human and animal health.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>PURPAN contributes specifically to the Neuro-Gastroenterology &amp; DYNAmics &amp; Ecology of Agroforestry Landscapes (Dynafor)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Dynafor is an interdisciplinary Joint Research Unit (UMR) whose aim is to generate knowledge on the representations, ecological functioning, management and governance of agroforestry landscapes in order to <strong>help implement sustainable agroecological and sylvoecological practices.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dynafor\u2019s work draws on the concept of socioecological landscapes, defined from an ecological perspective as a set of interacting ecosystems, and from a social science perspective as one of the social arenas where stakeholders interact.
